::: What is the name all about? :::
Colin says: The word "nectic" is not a real word...so deal with it. I wanted a word that has no intrinsic definition or baggage and that we can create meaning to it and brand it however we choose. I also like the word and it got stuck in my head, so I just couldn't get away from it. It does however have an origen that does mean alot to me. I am quite of fan of inventing and/or manipulating words, like "splenderrific", which I describe as "splendidly, terrificly fabtastic". See www.splenderrific.com for more! So, one day I was looking at the quasi-words present inside the name of the state where I grew up, and have a lot of pride for, the great Constitution State (the one above NY and below MA). To my delight I stumbled upon the wonder that is "nectic"!

::: What's the purpose? :::
Colin says: The purpose of nectic is to create interesting culture in the form of apparel, art, music, and live events, while simultaneously promoting awareness of and raising funds for active & important charities and non-profits that are dealing with the issues of poverty, aids, hunger, and other problems that affect the poor and diseased in the third world and here in the USA. To begin with, we will focus on a supporting few Africa relief and action organizations, as well as some excellent Boston charities! Please see the charities section for information about that part of the project.

::: What is so special about nectic? :::
Colin says: Well, we don't think that we are reinventing the wheel or anything. Most of this stuff has done before, but we want to contribute to the music and art scenes and help them grow larger and reach more people in interesting ways, especially in the Boston area. We have some unique ideas and projects, that if carried out the right way, could be quite unique and different. We are hoping to works with established arts and marketing companies and join existing / create a good community! Also, this project will initially begin as a "hobby" and all the people working on it will not depend on it for any income (they may be paid small amounts), but will be involved because they like the idea, support the causes, and are excited about being creative! One special thing to note: to begin with, each of our release will come out and in limited quantities and will be a different type of art piece. For example, maybe: release #1 = t-shirts, release #2 = an art-music-photography project, release #3 = sunglasses!

::: What...I mean how do I get involved or submit art? :::
Colin says: Well are looking for all types of artistic and/or creative people to be involved with this around Boston and the rest of the States. We will be looking for artist submissions in the future to release interesting art. Please email Colin@nectic.com if you want to be involved and/or submit art for consideration!
